Enjoyed the softer shell canolli and the honesty of the young woman working solo putting together orders and cashiering. Get her some help before she finds an employer who appreciates her great energy and customer service skills!

I can't get enough of this place, absolutely stunning The best tiramisu for sure!!! And coffee is very smooth and velvety, everyone is super nice and friendly and super welcoming, the place definitely feels like little Italy!!!!

This review is long overdue. Came here a while ago, first weekend if January 2020 and it was pretty empty. My wife and I got a few pastry items and the pistachio gelato. It was delicious. At the time, our daughter was 11 months old and we gave her a tiny kick of the Gelato and she was hooked. We of course limited the amount she ate. But this place makes high quality and yummy desserts. Will definitely come here again in the future.

It's been many years since we were last here. We picked up a few pastries to see if they were as good as we remembered. Not sure if there were fewer items available "to go" but the selection seemed a bit limited (Napoleons not available). The cannoli, tiramisu, lobster tail and lemon meringue tart were very good. The chocolate mousse cup and cheminee (also a chocolate mousse dessert) were disappointing. They've been around since 1892 - understandable for it to be crowded and touristy.

Ferrara is an NYC institution, and whenever I'm in the area I can't help but stop in and grab a cannoli. On my last visit here I also opted to grab a few rainbow cookies to bring home as well. This place is busy no matter what time of day you come here, but during nice weather they'll have a kiosk set up outside with gelato and a few of their staples like cannoli's, etc., to keep the line inside from getting too over crowded. My cannoli was exactly right - crunchy outside, soft and sweet (but not too sweet) filling on the inside. Tastes like it's made with love. The line moved decently fast when I was here (it was around 2 pm on a weekday). The prices here are rough though, so not a place you can frequent without deep pockets. But for when you deserve a little treat? Totally worth it.

I came here to grab a sweet treat for the afternoon. Unfortunately a few of my first choice selections were already sold out. So instead, I got the cannoli cake and a slice of the tiramisu. The cannoli cake was just okay. Nothing super special about it. However, the tiramisu was incredible!!! Light airy, and a perfect summer time dessert. Cannot wait to come back soon. Went to this spot as this was a place my wife and I have been going to for over 15 years. It has an external gelato truck I'd like you to try, but not this trip as I was "limiting" my sugar. The place has a 80s feel to it, with these nice booths, huge dessert cases, and the upstairs having more than one restroom (very rare for NYC). My wife and I got the cannoli cake first, and the super nice waitress saw me make a face, and not only recommended I get the tiramisu (which was absolutely decadent, and perfect), she took the cannoli cake off our check! After this my wife and I ordered some cannolis to go (I found out the difference between a cannoli and connolo). The cannoli were perfect! I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the restaurant for almost two decades of fantastic food, service, and everything, and thank you for making core memories for my family.

On our 3rd day in NYC, we had breakfast at Ferrara, a cafe/bakery in Little Italy which has been in business since 1892. Both hubby and I chose a breakfast plate that has a side of zucchini fries. Omg, those were to sooo delicious! The breakfast sandwich was really tasty as well. We were the first sit in customers as we didn't realize they didn't open until 9am. Our server Carmelo (who spoke Italian) was such a gentleman. This place surely reminded me of Italy in many ways, including the ambiance. Bathroom was upstairs and was pretty pleasant. Later in the day, we came back with friends for snacks/dessert and coffee. Their gelato and cakes are awesome! The sfogiatella was a bit disappointing as it was stale. I still give them 5 stars but it's really more like 4.75.

Still a must stop when in New York City for a little touch of Italy! Unfortunately, the challenge here is the pricing that has gotten really off the charts expensive with a reduced selection of inventory. Good service, friendly people, and always feels like home. Stop in for table service, to go orders, or even order online if you don't live in the area. In business for over 100 years, this little bakery offers some nostalgia in what is left of the little Italy area in lower Manhattan. The interior is still warm with finished woods and brass that gives it a cozy feel. If you stop in at this bakery, you can easily walk to Chinatown and have a multicultural experience.
